36” circular needle, size 5 (3.75 mm) or two sizes smaller than gauge needle
Note: Circular needle is used for ribbing on the edges and must be long enough to accommodate the large number of stitches around neck edge – very long straight needles can be substituted.

Q: Regarding the dot– when you slip wyif, are you slipping purl-wise or knit-wise?
A: To create the pretty slip-stitch dot, bring the working yarn to the front side as if to purl, then slip the next stitch purl-wise, then bring the yarn back to the reverse and resume knitting normally. Make an effort to hold the yarn with an even tension each time you preform this maneuver so that the fabric has a uniform appearance.
